April Group Read Discussions! #TheBookBasilisksBookClub

Hello bookish people of the Internet! I have something exciting to update to you in this short little post here! You might not know but I created and am currently moderating a book club located in Goodreads. I made it because I’ve always enjoyed being in virtual book clubs, and I want to make this one so that we can read books from different genres every month and discuss them in depth with fellow book lovers.

The name of this group is the Book Basilisks Book Club, which is such a very genius title and I do not take credit for the brilliant idea. It’s basically inspired by the idea or the theme that we are more than just bookworms, we are book basilisks, like the one in Harry Potter.

For the month of April, after a week of nominations and another week of voting, we have found that the group read for April is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.

First, there were ten – a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they’re unwilling to reveal – and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion.

Since April is already well under way, our topic discussion for this book has been filled with lots of thoughts on the book. A lot of people have read it, but some have never even read a single book by Agatha Christie, just like me. Here is the link to the discussion post.

Have you yourself read it? If not, go ahead and join the book club to read it together with the other members, and discuss your thoughts on it! If yes, that doesn’t mean you can’t jump in the discussions as well and share your feelings about the book with us.

I myself have just finished reading this iconic mystery novel. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Agatha Christie, she’s almost like a classic in her genre, and I was excited to delve into the mystery and share what my opinions are on the discussion page! I also am now very interested to check out her other work.

Other than that, our group will be voting on our May Group Read’s nominations soon, so once you become a member and have introduced yourself, go ahead and vote on the poll! I have also realized that this is my 100th published post in the Tea and Paperbacks blog! Yay!

Anyways, talk to you later in another post, or in the Book Basilisks Book Club discussions!
