Awards <3

Book Fangirling Blog Award!

I was nominated for this award by the super awesome Arec @ Rainy Thursdays, and this is super fun because I get to answer questions and make questions for other people to answer as well! Anyways, let me list the rules for the awards first:

  • Create a post to accept your award.
  • Add the blog award button into your post and put it on the side of your blog as a widget.
  • Answer the questions I have below.
  • Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

The questions I got from Arec are:

Is there anything that makes it impossible for you to read?
Yes! I don’t read when it’s way too noisy, so I don’t read in front of the TV or while listening to music. I also hate reading stories with bad punctuation and spelling, it’s one of my pet peeves. That’s why I rarely read fanfiction, even though I used to read a lot of them.

What book would you buy two copies for (one copy to read, one copy to stay pretty)?
Ooh this is tricky! If I really had to choose one, I’d probably pick Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, because my copy of the book is battered because so many people have read and reread it and I just want one that looks really pretty. And maybe the illustrated edition one!

Do your books look nice and pristine, or well read and handled?
When I was younger I don’t take care of my books too much so my childhood books will have cracked spines, crumbs between the pages, some spilled water maybe, and dog-eared pages. But nowadays I try my best to make my books nice and not too used. But personally I don’t mind having books that look like they’ve been well-read, that’s why I don’t mind buying secondhand books. They just seem more personal and beautiful to me.

What is your biggest reading pet peeve?
Like I said before, bad spelling and punctuation is awful. Also, I kind of don’t like it when books have no chapter titles. It makes it hard for me to remember which part when I go back to it in the future.

Do you have a book buddy (someone you share all your reading with regardless)?
I don’t think I really have one single person who knows every single book I’m reading. My best friends will probably know some because they’d see me every day with the book I’m currently reading and I’ll tell them about it. But I don’t really have a friend who shares similar taste in books as I do and I usually go to when I want to fangirl or talk about what book I’m reading, which is kinda sad. I’m lonely. Someone be my book buddy 😦

Well, those are all the questions to answer! Now for my own questions. For those of you who were nominated by me, here are the questions you need to answer:

  1. What’s the best book you’ve read so far in 2015?
  2. Do you have any book or fandom related things and which one is your favourite?
  3. Where is your favourite place for you to read and where is your least favourite place to read?
  4. What are your bad reading habits?
  5. What book would you like to rewrite if you had the chance?

And, I nominate:

  1. Shoto @ Confessions of a Bibliophile
  2. When Curiosity Killed the Cat
  3. Nika @ Nika’s Reading List
  4. Emma @ Emma the Book Lover
  5. Kaylyn @ One Nerd Wonder

The Blogger Recognition Award <3

I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition award by Emma @ The Book Brief and later on by Reg @ She Latitude. I was so happy, thank you so much for recognising me even though I’m fairly new to this blogging community.

The Rules:

  • Write a post to show off your award: Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.
  • Comment on each blog: Let them know that they’ve been nominated.
  • Provide a link to the original Edge of Night post.

The Beginning of Tea and Paperbacks:

So I first began this blog on September 2015, which was not too long ago. But I’ve already owned a WordPress blog where I write about books I’ve read and showcase my original writing since around 2010, even though it was in a different blog. But basically I was quite familiar to the whole community. I decided to make this blog and write reviews about books and all because I’ve realized how much I like reading and how I want to share my thoughts on the books I’ve read to the world. I used to only write and show my reviews in Goodreads, but I finally thought that this blog would become a better medium to do that. And so far I’m in love with book blogging. It’s so fun!

Advice for Beginners:

To be fair, I’m super new to the book blogging business and it’s not like I’m famous or all that. I do have several advice that I think a lot of you might agree on:
The first one is to always post. I think that this applies to any kind of blog or social media. More people will like your blog if you are active and post a lot. I usually post around 2-4 times a week, but at least once or twice a week is mostly the average in my opinion.
The second one is to always engage with the readers, which are the visitors of your blog. Don’t just write down about the books you read and all, as questions to the readers and invite them to discuss and share their thoughts at the end of your post so that they’d be interested to talk to you down in the comments.
The third one is to customize your blog appearance. Make it original and different, find something that will catch the eye and also look professional. Obviously I’m not a pro at this, but I find that I prefer blogs with something unique to offer to the readers. For example for me, I have the theme of having very few colors in my blog, and only black and white text. It makes people set my blog apart from the others. Because otherwise, I’d just be another book blog.

I know I’ve only nominated around 10 people but they’re all so lovely people and they’re all worth at least two nominations so there you go! Also anyone who reads this post are nominated as well, so you should all do this award! If you don’t want to do this it’s absolutely okay, but I’m glad you have stopped by to read this post 🙂 See you around soon everyone!

Versatile Blogger Award!

Heya people! How’s your November going on so far? This award is way too long overdue, I was tagged by two wonderful blogs, Astra Guild @ A Stranger’s Guide to Novels and Arec @ Rainy Thursdays. Thank you so much both of you, I really appreciate it 🙂

So the rules are:

  • Show the award on your blog
  • Thank the person (or people in my case) that has nominated you.
  • Share 7 different facts about yourself.
  • Nominate a number of blogs of your choice
  • Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination

Alright then, here are 7 different facts about myself:

  1. At this moment I don’t own a single bookshelf – I had one back at home but right now I’m living abroad and I’m renting a room here so I don’t want to buy too many books.
  2. I can’t wait for the new Mockingjay movie!!! I’m probably gonna cry myself in front of all my friends in the cinemas.
  3. I am an INTJ but on some tests I am classified as ISTJ. Sometimes I’m also an ISFJ. I have no idea which one is correct.
  4. I love going to museums, especially art museums. Even though I don’t know much about painters and artists.
  5. I have shoulder-length black, straight hair and I’ve never changed its hair color but I really want to! I’m thinking of dyeing it blue but I don’t have the courage to do it.
  6. I don’t like sports, but my favourite sport is probably swimming. I love swimming and I can say I’m pretty good at it.
  7. One of my dreams is to visit all the continents in the world. I’ve only been to two. Still don’t know if I’ll be able to go to Antartica hahaha.

People I will nominate are:

Well that’s all from this award! I have been doing a lot of awards and tags lately and I think I’ve tagged pretty much everyone so I won’t tag anyone else. Hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading this post 😉
