Bout of Books 15: Day 7 Updates + Wrap Up!

It’s a wrap, everyone! After a week of the Bout of Books readathon, we have finally reached the last day and I am so happy that I joined this readathon. It was an amazing way to start the year. Here is my update for the last day and wrapping up the whole week as well. For previous posts and updates of the readathon, click here.

Day Seven

Number of pages read: 39 pgs of Scarlet + 160 pgs of Cress
Time spent reading: 2 hrs 18 mins

Wrap Up

Books finished in total: 2
Pages read in total: 878 pgs
Total time spent reading: 9 hrs 7 mins

Looking back at my goals for this readathon, I am quite sad to say I did not reach most of them. My goal was to finish 3 books and to read 1,300 pages. I know the reason behind why I didn’t reach this goal was because I spent a day and a half not reading and doing other things – as a result, when I was supposed to read for at least two hours on a Saturday, I didn’t read a single page at all.

But, the two books I finished were such exciting novels: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and I will let you guys know my thoughts on them when I write their reviews! Not to mention I’m around a third through the third book of the Lunar Chronicles, Cress and it’s super fun marathoning the series like this.

All in all, this readathon was not the most successful ones ever. Yet I did get a lot of reading done, I discovered amazing books during it, and it was a wonderful seven days of readathon. I look forward to doing more of these in the future!

What about you? How many books did you read in this readathon, and did you reach your goals? If you didn’t join the readathon, let me know the books you read this week nonetheless! Hope you all have a lovely day, and I’ll see you in my next post!

Bout of Books 15 Updates: Day 5 & 6

Oh no! One more day before the readathon ends! I can’t believe it’s already almost been a week. I feel like I need more time to reach my goals that I set up at the beginning of the readathon. But here are my not so interesting updates on the fifth and sixth day.

Day Five

Number of pages read: 52 pages of Scarlet
Time spent reading: 35 mins

Day Six

Number of pages read: 0
Time spent reading: 0

Books finished so far: 1
Pages read so far: 679 pgs

On Friday and Saturday I did basically no reading. I started Friday at uni, doing usual stuff and I planned on going home early to read but I ended up baking macarons at my friend’s house and then spent the night there. On Saturday we went to a party but we were also a member of the committee who was in charge of organizing the party, so we spent basically the whole day planning the party. I went home at midnight and didn’t have the time or effort to read a single page, which was sad because I was really in the mood for Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and I would’ve been able to finish the book that day.

Planning on doing a lot more reading this Sunday! For more regular updates, follow me on Twitter and Goodreads!

Bout of Books 15 Updates: Day 3 & 4

Day Three

Number of pages read: 179 pages of Fangirl
Total time spent reading: 1 hour 43 min

Day Four

Number of pages read: 45 pages of Fangirl + 96 pages of Scarlet = 141 pages
Total time spent reading: 1 hour 25 min

Books finished so far: 1
Pages read so far: 627 pgs

I finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell at around 8 am on the fourth day before going to uni. I absolutely adored it. I loved the ending – I don’t know why some people didn’t like it. Levi and Cath’s romance was adorable and I would squeal in delight every time they interact in a cute way. I have so many different thoughts on this book that I think I’m going to make a review of it! But I rated it 4 out of 5 stars, but I feel like it’s more on the 4.5 stars for me.

I then continued Scarlet by Marissa Meyer on the fourth day. I really enjoyed the story so far and after passing the halfway point I think the story became more interesting, especially on Scarlet’s part. I really like her as a character, and although I don’t mind Cinder’s chapters, I definitely prefer hers more, and even Kai’s chapters more than Cinder’s.
